Photo Diary Companion

Your Photo Diary on the map and by date, in your pocket.

The iPhone companion for Photo Diary, the photo journal you run on your own server, where photos are kept by the day they were taken and where they were taken. The site is where you upload and edit. This app is what you carry.

Coming to the App Store for iPhone.

Every photo on the map

Every geotagged photo as a pin, piled up by zoom so a city's worth stays readable. Tap a pin for its thumbnails, tap again for the photo. Follow your location as you walk and find what you shot around the corner years ago.

The diary by date

Gallery, year, month, and the month's photos by day, the way the diary was written. From any photo, jump to its place on the map, or from the map to its day in the calendar, among the photos taken around it.

Pins for places to go back to

Touch and hold the map to drop a todo pin: a note, a star, and a quick snapshot of the place if you like. List them nearest first. They stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere, not even to your own server.

Pairing, not passwords

On your Photo Diary site, Pair a device shows a QR code and a link. Scan it or tap it, and the app is in; it never asks for a username or password. Pair as many servers as you like, and open one gallery or all of them.

Fast, and fine offline

The last answer from each server is kept on the phone and shown at once, then refreshed. No signal on the trail still means a map full of photos.

Yours, end to end

The app talks to the servers you pair it with and to nothing of ours: no analytics, no ads, no accounts. A built-in demo shows the app before you pair anything. English and Japanese.

Free. No ads, no accounts, no tracking.

Needs a Photo Diary server, version 1.0.7 or later, with an account on it.
