Photo Diary

A self-hosted photo journal, by date and on the map.

A photo gallery you run on your own server, arranged by the day each photo was taken: made for diaries and other date-based photography projects. The site is where photos are uploaded, kept and shown; the iPhone companion carries them, on the map and by date, wherever you go.

The site

Self-hosted and open source. Your photos, on your server, under your rules.

A calendar of photos

Year, month and photo views: a heat-mapped calendar, thumbnails grouped by day, and each photo full screen with its date, place, camera and settings.

On the map

Every photo with a location on a map, scoped to whatever you're looking at; places named in the visitor's language. A gallery can keep its locations to itself.

Statistics

Time, place, gear, exposure, light: what the diary is made of, with charts of how it changed over the years.

Filters that keep up

By camera, lens, place, date or any range of settings, applied to the calendar and the statistics at once, and fast enough to toggle freely.

Galleries and access

One photo in any number of galleries, galleries made of others or of a saved filter, and access per user, group or guest. One host can serve several galleries under their own names.

Made to be lived with

English, Finnish and Japanese, eighteen themes, an admin UI for galleries, users and photo edits, and upgrades that swap code without touching your photos.
